Historic Call for U.S. Anti-Terrorist National Character

In the current “crises of human affairs”, threatening the very existence of the Western Civilization, one Nation - the People of the United States - have to take a leading role on the Historic Stage, and “preserve, protect and defend“ material and cultural values of the Mankind. There is no doubt, this is the single most important historic development for the youngest of the Great Nations and the oldest Constitutional Republic in the Modern History. It is the righteous call with expectations to avert the unfolding calamity in battle with Terror. 

Absolute success of the noble endeavor of combating Terrorism can be neither guaranteed, nor can come miraculously by itself. However, victory in battle with Terror is never an exercise in futility, if the Nation precisely defines own Historic Mission (Read more...) and meticulously identifies true National Character (Read more...) capable of accomplishing that Historic Mission.
   
These two conditions represent a set of practical ideas essential for a survival of the Nation in the current sinister stage of battle with Terror. In other words, Historic Mission and National Character are fundamental anti-terrorist Ideological Principles demonstrating maturity of the Nation, and ability of the People of the United States to lead in “life or death“ battle for survival of the Civilization.
 
Therefore, it is crucial that principles of the Nation’s Historic Mission must be plain enough to be grasped and accepted by many in the United States. It is imperative that Ethics and Esthetics of National Character need to be universal enough in order to be recognized by that many and consequently, unite the exceptionally diverse citizenry of the country in battle. 

Character is a undeniably one of the most significant categories of Human Culture. It is an embodiment of thousands years of cultural evolution of Man chained by powerful natural instincts - primarily territorial and survival. Character represents a long way taken by Man from the darkness of his biological dependency on instincts to Liberty and Sovereignty of almost ideal Human Being - embodiment of absolute Ethics and perfect Esthetics of the original Image and the original Likeness of his Creator.  

In its own term, National Character is “E Pluribus Unum” - a personification and manifestation of the very best cultural properties of many in ONE. It is the Role Model of the Nation at a time of battle with Terror. National Character is a paramount of a historical development of the American people going from serving own self-centered and narrow political, economic, social interests to benevolent pledge of own Life and Fortune to support Ideals of the Mankind incorporated in the Nation’s Historic Mission.
 
Development of anti-terrorist National Character - Homeland Defender being able to withstand physical and ideological enemy’s power is a must in opposition to rapidly multiplying numbers of Ideological Collaborators with enemy. This requires a role modeling after great National Characters - patriots of the past, advanced anti-terrorist education on all levels, and profound anti-terrorist ideological training for all U.S. Military and all U.S. anti-terrorist Civilian Self-Defense Forces, the current and future. (Read more...)

Ideological Power of the U.S. Constitution

The Constitutional Responsibility of the People
to “Promote the Progress of ... useful Arts”

The Constitution of the United States delegates Power “to promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts” to the U.S. Congress. It also precisely defines how “to promote Science and useful Arts by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries”. Article I, Section 8. 

The U.S. Congress follows the order of the Constitution. However, the U.S. Congress oversteps delegated by the Constitution the limited Power to “promote the Progress of Science” and assumed the Power of appropriations for promoting Science financially.

In contrast, the U.S. Congress never appropriated promoting ideologically charged  “useful Arts” financially, and specifically "useful" Performing Arts, since the time of abandoning fifers and drummers on battlefields. (Read  more...)

To be fair, the Government supports all sorts of arts. However, all Government’s grants with practically no exception awarded to individuals, who actually abandoned “useful Arts”, as Ideological Instruments of the Nation. Many of those modern writers, actors, artists openly confront “useful Arts” as “corny”, “old hat“, and even “politically incorrect“. 

No wonder, that the main Government Agency sponsoring arts in the United States is called the National Endowment for the Arts, and not for “useful Arts”, as the Constitution directs.

While the U.S. Congress broadens the Word of the Constitution by de facto promoting Science financially, the U.S. Congress relinquishes the responsibility to equally and proportionally promote “useful Arts”. All that resulted in flourishing of Science in the United States, and total vanishing of “useful Arts”. 

Consequently, at a time of the ideologically charged total terrorist warfare, when “useful Arts” are indispensable for Ideological superiority of the Nation in battle and sustaining the Will of the Nation to resist Terror, they are not available even as basic Ideological Instruments. It is imperative that “useful Arts” ought to be resurrected, and the Progress of “useful Arts” must be promoted equally and proportionally to Science at a time of the War on Terror. 

But who does get the Power to “Promote the Progress of ... useful Arts”, while the U.S. Congress gave up that Power, and de facto literally starved “useful Arts“ to death? 

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, not prohibited to it by the States are reserved to the States respectively...” (The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States) So, do the States get Power to “Promote the Progress of ... useful Arts”?

Nothing of the kind! No States have a provision for promotion of “useful Arts” in States Constitutions. Therefore, States have no Constitutional Power to “Promote the Progress of ... useful Arts” either.  So, who does get the Power to “Promote the Progress of ... useful Arts”, after all?

Let‘s read the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States once again: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, not prohibited to it by the States are reserved to the States respectively, or to THE PEOPLE”. 

According to the Supreme Law of the Land the Power to “Promote the Progress of ... useful Arts” in a broad sense belongs to "the people". To you, myself, all of us.
  
There is no one else, but “the people” got the Power to bring “useful Arts” being vital in ideologically charged battle with Terror back to life. This Power is Ideological Power of the Constitution of the United States, and it is real.

It is the Ideological Power to strengthen the Will of the Nation in battle against all enemies, foreign and domestic. It is the Power to promote the Progress of “useful Arts“ serving as Ideological Instruments in “decisive ideological struggle of the 21st century“. 

The Ideological Power is delegated to the people by the Constitution, and cannot be denied! However, there is no Power without Knowledge. And there is no Knowledge without Education. (Read more...)  

That is why it is the Constitutional Responsibility of the people of the United States to get useful knowledge of “useful Arts”, first, and then “faithfully execute” the Ideological Power “delegated to “the people” by the Supreme Law of the Land.

Never Forget Our Heroes

The one thing that America must never, ever do is stop teaching the rich military heritage of our nation, going back to the 1700's, decades before the Revolutionary War. Many schools, led by liberal teachers and administrators, refuse to teach military history lest someone actually grow up to want to serve their nation and those who live in it.

As a retired Marine now serving in a civilian status in Iraq, I sometimes think about one of my personal heroes (among many of America's heroes), who must  never be forgotten. The sacrifice of our military forces has given us our freedoms, and once we stop remembering them, we'll die as a nation.

Thus, as we approach my hero's birthday, and indeed, the Marine Corps' Birthday on 10 November, let us remember a double award winner of America's highest award, the Medal of Honor. Continued...

More than six years after 9/11, it is clear the US still faces an serious terrorist threat. Recent reports portray a disturbing picture: The latest National Intelligence Estimate on the terrorist threat to the US homeland describes a resurgent al Qaeda based in NW Pakistan which is still determined to strike the US and its allies, and whose ideology continues to radicalize and inspire Muslim youth throughout the world. Similarly, a study by NYPD intelligence division on terrorist radicalization outlines the difficulties in developing profiles for potential future terrorists.

On October 20, 2007, Mitchell Silber and Pam Byron addressed these issues at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy's Weinberg Founders Conference. Pam Byron, deputy national intelligence officer for transnational threats at the National Intelligence Council, spoke off the record. Mitchell Silber is a senior analyst in the Intelligence Division of the New York City Police Department and coauthor of its recent report, "Radicalization in the West: The Homegrown Threat."
