"You have got the Obama phenomenon. You have got, undoubtedly, a recession ... The average American is really getting hurt financially and that all bodes well for him (Obama). You have probably the making of a complete phenomenon in this country,"

News Corp Chief Executive Rupert Murdoch

Predictions of future are full of all sorts of doom and gloom expectations nowadays. For instance, "News Corp Chief Executive Rupert Murdoch on Wednesday predicted a Democratic landslide in the U.S. presidential election against a gloomy economic backdrop over the next 18 months,".
There is no doubt Rupert Murdoch has a great reputation as a businessman, but how good he is in predictions of future. Here is a quote from his another prediction in 2003:
"The greatest thing to come out of this [liberation of Iraq] for the world economy, if you could put it that way, would be $20 a barrel for oil. That's bigger than any tax cut in the any country."
Murdoch backs 'courageous' Blair over Iraq
Let me remind my readers that a barrel of Brent crude costs $31.68 while US light crude costs $34.53 in 2003 at the time Rupert Murdoch made that his prediction.
