General (Ret.) Wesley Clark said...

"It's time for all of us to come together to take on John McCain in the general election. John McCain offers another four years of George Bush's policies, which our country simply cannot afford."

General (Ret.) Wesley Clark said: "There has never been a more important election in my lifetime -- with a war waging, gas prices at record highs, our health care in crisis, and our nation's standing around the world severely diminished.  I spent the last year traveling across the country talking to great Americans in Iowa, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Ohio, Texas, South Dakota, Indiana and many other places.  They all agree on one thing:  This country needs new leadership, and it's time for change."

Comment by Boris Tiraspolsky:

You are absolutely right, general, this is one of the most important elections. You are correct, "a war waging, gas prices at record highs, our health care in crisis, and our nation's standing around the world severely diminished".

There is one problem, general! I do not think either Senator Barack Obama, or Senator McCain  clearly understand the magnitude of "change" the Nation needs. And for a support of my sentence I kindly ask you to read a parable about playing music with wrong instruments. Here it is.

"Both political parties in the United States act like two amateur music players who want to play the Ninth Symphony by Beethoven and sing The Ode to Joy. However, the only musical instruments they have and can play are percussion instruments and banjo.

One player says, I understand that the Ninth Symphony is written for an orchestra and choir, and requires many other instruments - string, brass, woodwind. But I play percussion instruments that are an integral part of the composer's music.

Another player says, I could not care less what "other" instruments needed to play this music. I play my banjo, as many Americans do, and I do not need percussion instruments either, because no one could hear how well I play my banjo, otherwise.

Finally, a professional Conductor comes and tells to both amateur players that they cannot play the Ninth Symphony and sing The Ode to Joy by using wrong instruments. In order to explain to them why it cannot be done, he asks for a "useful instrument" - grand piano to play the original composer's score.

Alas! The grand piano is not available anymore either. Some time ago BOTH PARTIES agreed to sell the grand piano and purchase the percussion instruments and banjo instead."

I agree with you, general, that "this country needs new leadership, and it's time, for change."

However, neither Republican McCain, nor Democrat Obama represent that "new leadership" and "change" the Nation currently needs. Neither of them up to historic challenges we all are facing at a time of "life or death" battle with Terror.

In other words, BOTH PARTIES failed the American people, turning into parties of elected bureaucrats, politically appointed bureaucrats, or life-long carrier bureaucrats naturally "playing music with wrong instruments". This is the biggest problem of all  "which our country simply cannot afford", using your words, general.
