Attorney General Holder said...

"My fear... that we are taking steps that, rather than advancing us as a nation, are actually dividing us even further." -  Excerpts from Atty Gen Holder's remarks on race

Attorney General Holder's remarks on race

Attorney General Holder said: "Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial, we have always been, and we, I believe, continue to be, in too many ways, a nation of cowards. Though race-related issues continue to occupy a significant portion of our political discussion, and though there remain many unresolved racial issues in this nation, we, average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about things racial.

It is an issue that we have never been at ease with, and given our nation's history, this is in some way, understandable. And yet, if we are to make progress in this area, we must feel comfortable enough with one another, and tolerant enough of each other to have frank conversations about the racial matters that continue to divide us."

Comment by Boris Tiraspolsky: It looks odd and dubious when the ruling Party that has currently the black elected President, the black Attorney General and a number of other black top officials begins to raise an issue of a race problem in America and returns to rhetoric of the past under the garnish of integration “black history into our culture”.

I just wonder where did a political appointee and career bureaucrat Mr. Holder see a “disintegration” of black history from “our culture” for the last time? Does he also believe that the Constitution of the United States was written by White Supremacists?

Mr. Holder complains that “in things racial, we have always been, and we, I believe, continue to be, in too many ways, a nation of cowards”. So, I recommend Mr. Holder to read the article by Tom Adkins that was written right after the victory of Barack Obama - The Era of White Guilt is over

Why is Mr. Holder trying to prove otherwise? “…race-related issues continue to occupy a significant portion of our political discussion, and though there remain many unresolved racial issues in this nation, we, average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about things racial”.

The answer is simple “average Americans” do not talk “about things racial” because there are much more important things to talk about : economic crisis, terrorist war. “Because the vast majority of white Americans didn't give a fluff about skin color, and enthusiastically pulled the voting lever for a black man.” As Tom Adkins also pointed out “in the 60s, American liberals began yanking that millstone while sticking a fork in the eye of black Americans, exacerbating the racial divide to extort a socialist solution.”

The current attempt by Mr. Holder to return the Era of White Guilt is a sinister sign of the ruling Party’s ideological bankruptcy. Lacking true creativity these bureaucrats offer old hat socialist recipes to solve problems facing the Nation. These recipes never worked. That seems to be a true reason for provoking a new artificial spiral of racial issue in order to blame in own failure somebody else - “a nation of cowards“.
