Could Hamas Target the West?

"The Holy Land Foundation case has refocused attention on the presence and activities of Hamas in the United States. That activity has focused on raising funds and engaging in propaganda activities, but are there any conditions under which Hamas could target Western interests? To be sure, Americans and citizens of many other countries have died in Hamas's indiscriminate suicide bombings. But what calculus might lead Hamas as a group, semi-independent Hamas cells, rogue Hamas cells, or Hamas operatives acting as "lone wolves" to actively target Western interests?" - Matthew Levitt

Could Hamas Target the West?
By Matthew Levitt

Hamas founder Sheikh Ahmed Yasin

On 22 March 2004, Israeli security forces assassinated Hamas founder Sheikh Ahmed Yasin. His deputy and successor, Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi, issued a statement implying that Hamas would avenge Yasin's death with attacks on Israel -- and on the United States. "The war against Islam is the same war which is launched in Iraq," Rantissi proclaimed. "In Palestine also, there is a war against Islam. So, the Islamic nation should wake up and shake the land under the feet of those Zionists and the Americans who back them." Although Rantissi withdrew the threat the next day, the State Department immediately issued a travel advisory warning Americans of possible terrorist threats. The advisory warned: "In the aftermath of the killing of Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, a Hamas spokesman has threatened revenge against Israel and U.S. interests . . . all U.S. citizens [are urged] to depart Gaza as early as it is safe to do so. . . ." Continued...

Islam, the Marxism of Our Time
By Theodore Dalrymple

From an Islamist point of view, the news from Europe looks good. The Times of London, relying on a police report, recently observed that the Deobandis, a fundamentalist sect, now run nearly half of the 1,350 mosques in Britain and train the vast majority of the Muslim clerics who get their training in the country. The man who might become the sect’s spiritual leader in Britain, Riyadh ul Haq, believes that friendship with a Christian or a Jew makes “a mockery of Allah’s religion.” At least no one could accuse him of a shallow multiculturalism. Continued...

Wartime Aiding the Enemy

"This goes back to the fundamental unresolved questions in the minds of a segment of the public as to: (a) is the USA at war or not, (b) if so, who is the enemy, (c) what is our war strategy against the enemy."

Why The New York Times Can Legally Help The Enemy
in The War on Terror
By Jeffrey Imm

In July 2007, the Washington Post gave a Hezbollah supporter full coverage of an online column on Jihadism, and in June 2007, both the New York Times and the Washington Post printed editorials by a Hamas figure.

This week, the New York Times has provided online columns on August 8 and August 9 dedicated to brainstorming new ideas on how Jihadists can attack and kill Americans. The New York Times author, Dr. Steven Levitt, a writer on economics, used his online August 8 column "If You Were a Terrorist, How Would You Attack?" to offer some new ideas to Jihadists on ways to murder Americans, and suggested some specific tactics that Jihadists can take to improve both the level of terror and effectiveness of such murders. Then Dr. Levitt invited the general public to offer their own suggestions on how Jihadists might be able to kill Americans, stating "I'm sure many readers have far better ideas. I would love to hear them." And disturbingly, many hundreds of readers obliged Dr. Levitt by offering horrific suggestions to help Jihadists. This was not yet enough for the New York Times, and so on August 9, Dr. Levitt wrote a second online column "Terrorism, Part II", where he defended his right to recommend murder ideas to terrorists, by explaining that there are a "virtually infinite" number of American vulnerabilities, and by claiming that the "terrorists are incompetent" or the "terrorism threat just isn't that great".

Not once in either column does Dr. Levitt ever use the word... "Jihad" or "Jihadists". In Dr. Levitt's view, the threat is only from incompetent criminals that he calls "terrorists", and that view of terrorists as mere "criminals" was echoed the same day by former NATO leader Wesley Clark in another New York Times column "Why Terrorists Aren't Soldiers"Continued...

Importance of Learning about Islam and Muslims

"The outcome of the "war on terror," I submit, will have less to do with breakthroughs in avionics or intelligence coups than with the degree to which civilized people understand the nature of their enemy and join together to fight it."

America's Crash Course on Islam
by Daniel Pipes

How goes the "war on terror"? One would think that the absence of a successful dramatic terrorist operation against Westerners since the London bombings in July 2005 would be heartening. But an atmosphere of gloom predominates. A recent much-publicized Foreign Policy magazine poll of 108 American specialists, myself included, found merely 6% who agreed that "The United States is winning the war on terror." A whopping 84% disagreed. Continued...

Are there too many mosques in America?

Endorsing "values" of Islamic jihadists

"Ideological Collaborator with Enemy is a category of Ethics and Esthetics."
Definition of Ideological Collaborator with Enemy

"Useful Art" of the Cold War anti-communist poster -
just change the word "Communism" for the word "Islamism"
_______________________________

Old-new "politically incorrect" vocabulary

Expressions "collaborator with enemy" and “ideological enemy” are not very common in a “politically correct” vocabulary currently used in the United States. Anyone pointing out at "collaborators with enemy" and/or  “ideological enemies” takes a great deal of risk to be accused in “neo-McCarthyism” and all other “deadly” “politically incorrect” sins. However, the Nation does have a true ideological opponent. It is Terrorism and associated with the Ideology of Terror - Islamic jihad.

Everyone in America learns that according to the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States the Government cannot create or inhibit religion. The Government cannot ban most types of speech, restrict the press. The Government cannot stop people from gathering peacefully, or prohibit citizens from asking the Government for reform. These are “blessings of Liberty” every American enjoys.

In the contrast, the Ideology of Terror, and in particular the Ideology of the Islamic jihadists inhibits all religions, but own believes, whatever those believes are. Islamic jihadists categorically prohibit free speech, but expressions of own views, and totally restricts all free, but only permitted by them press. They forbid any gatherings of people, but those who support them.

Needles to stress, that adepts  of the Ideology of Terror coming to Power, the way it happened in the former USSR in 1917 and in the Nazi Germany in 1934, establish regimes that cannot be reformed, whatsoever. These regimes can only be totally destroyed as the Nazi Germany, or collapse as the former USSR.

The United States happened to be the very last barrier on Islamic jihadists’ way to become the only existing World Power. In order to achieve their strategic goals, terrorists need to deteriorate the will of the Nation to fight Terrorism. For that very reason terrorists utilize a “smart” strategic weaponry - ideologically charged suicide bomber, intending to use conventional and non-conventional weapons aimed at the U.S. civilian population. (Read more...)

For the very same reason Islamic jihadists utilize the Ideology of Terror historically proven to be very effective Instrument of an oppression. They plan to provoke in minds of the U.S. population all sinister manifestations of Terror: fear, panic, anxiety, shock, fright, scare in order to conclusively brake the will of the Nation to withstand Terror, and finally achieve terrorist’s objectives of becoming the only existing Power in the World.

It is erroneous to be ideologically “neutral” in the War on Terrorism without indirectly and/or directly endorsing wicked “values” of Islamic jihadists. Therefore, the U.S. civilian population must learn how to actively refuse to go along with the Ideology of Terror in any forms and shapes. It does require a strong National Character, and this is a historic Mission of the Nation.

Terrorism, or rather Islamic jihad is an adamant ideological challenger of the free and sovereign Nation. Therefore, one of the main purposes for establishing U.S. Civilian Self-Defense (Read more...) is for the entire population of the United States to become prepared mentally and physically to resist Islamic jihad and above all to defy ominous ideological manifestations of Terror. (Read more...)

There is no doubt that it is categorically wrong to be “open minded” by appeasing terrorists, regardless of their believes. All those who by any reason cry off to say “no” to the War on Terrorism, all those who obey the evil will of Islamic jihadists, all those who allow their minds to surrender to corrupt demands of Terror are de facto ideological collaborators with enemy and consequently, enemies of the Nation.

Ideological Awareness of the Nation in Battle

"Ideology is a paramount in practical wisdom and profundity of a society."

Ideological awareness - knowledge of Good and Evil
_________________________

Servants and Consumers of Ideology

Ideology is a corner stone of any recognizable Civilization. The original meaning of the word “ideology” is “the Science of ideas and ideals“. Ideology specifically identifies practical usage of ideas that originate from the Progress of human Ethics - principles of moral conduct, and Esthetics - perception of beauty and ugliness. Needless to stress that both, Ethics and Esthetics are literally shaping a civilized society.

Men are ideological creatures. They either serve Ideology, or consume it. “Servants” of Ideology are usually philosophers, thinkers, economists, writers, poets, political and spiritual leaders of the Nation, and etc. “Servants” of Ideology also include art and literally scholars, creative artists in visual and Performing Arts, turning their works into ideologically charged “useful Arts“.

There is nothing wrong or inferior to be a “consumer” of Ideology, and make practical use of ethically righteous ideas and ideals produced by great minds of the Mankind. There is a great privilege to be a connoisseur of ideologically charged “useful Arts” created by talented contemporary artists, as well as great artists of the past, conveying noble ideas and ideals of humanity in their works.

It is true that one does not have to be a scientist in physics to use electricity, or an engineer to drive a car. The same is with Ideology. No one is required to be a philosopher, thinker, writer, or an artist to greatly enjoy and benefit from Ethics and Esthetics historically established and excepted by people as ideas and ideals of a society. However, there is no such thing as “natural instinct”, effortlessly bringing ideological awareness to everyone on a golden plate.

Ideology is a paramount in practical wisdom and profundity of a society. It goes without saying, that no one can read books before learning the alphabet, first. Who said that Ideology being the top cultural achievement, comes naturally for everyone without learning the “ABC” of Ethics - principles of moral conduct (or lack of it!), and Esthetics - perception (or lack of it!) of beauty and ugliness, governing and forming a complex modern society, then?

Everybody knows that no cultural knowledge can be ever obtained without a hard, persistent work from men‘s part. There is no secret that it takes years and years to study and perfect foreign languages, or learn how to play musical instruments, for instance. Why don’t people realize that in many instances to obtain ideological awareness by an individual is even more difficult and slower process?

The “Science of ideas and ideals” is a totally cultural phenomena, and therefore, requires an enormous effort to be accepted, understood, and implemented in people’s every day life. There is no productive and healthy development of a society without a serious ideological exertion by many. Needles to mention that true and vivid ideological awareness of many becomes ideological awareness of entire Nation vital at a time of Peace and a must at a time of War.

Historically, the American people are predominately “consumers” of the Ideology of the Supreme Law of the Land - the Constitution of the United States. However, even the greatest most powerful ideas and ideals of the Constitution taken for granted may grow to be flat, loose their touch with Reality, and sense of Destiny in minds of people, leading to the failure of the civilization to survive.

The ideas and ideals of the Constitution taken for granted by many people is one of the fundamental ideological problems that ought be addressed and dealt with. It is an extremely difficult, but imperative endeavor. For the People of the United States ideological awareness begins at a very moment of a striking recognition of a true meaning of own life, as much greater then just personal “persuade of happiness“, and therefore, a necessity of defining and reshaping own character according to this noble revelation. (Read more...)

Ideological awareness of the Nation is critical at the current “crisis of human affairs“ when Islamic jihadists waged a total war against the United States. Ideological struggle with Islamic jihadists intending to replace ideas and ideals of the Constitution of the United States with the Ideology of the Islamic Law, requires unprecedented ideological strength of and contribution from every American Citizen. Ideological awareness of the American people is a must condition in order to maintain the Will of the Nation to resist our irreconcilable Enemy.

The Global War on Terror is the time when the American people need to become ideologically aware of the Nation’s Historic Mission: practically “to form a more perfect Union“. This is the time of ideological transfiguration passive “consumers” into active National Characters pledging own lives and own fortune in responsibility to “preserve, protect and defend“ the most precious ideas and ideals of the Constitution of the United States. (Read more...)

Both, “servants” and “consumers” of Ideology are equally invaluable for the ideologically mature Nation at a time of battle with Terror. It is absolutely wrong and potentially dangerous to disregard neither of them on the Historic Stage. Total ideological awareness of the Nation is the only way to prevent the practical “Science of ideas and ideals” from turning into a dry compilation of rigid dogmas and generalizations lacking necessary creativity for the vital Progress of human Ethics and Esthetics.

Terror and Internet: Mapping Online Jihad
By Animesh Roul

Of late, there is a spurt of literatures regarding the threat of ‘online Jihad’ (threat about the use of internet web space in fueling, fostering Jihadi terrorism). Terrorist organizations and their sympathizers do maintain Web sites taking advantage of the unregulated, anonymous, and easily accessible nature of the Internet. Thanks to Web logs, discussion groups and social networking groups and free upload servers where one doesn’t need to hire a webmaster or to book a server space to run the agenda. It is in common knowledge now that they target a variety of audiences to exploit for raising funds, recruitment, and to spread propaganda, even plan and launch attacks and to publicize their mind-blowing results. Even they have web journals like “Technical Mujahid” (first ever released late November 2006 al-Fajr Information Center) with a detailed know-how of computer and Internet knowledge and security designed for terrorists only. Continued...

However, even Buckminster Fuller could not imagine that due to an unparalleled strength, efficiency and the relatively low cost of geodesic domes they could be utilized as Bomb Shelters against the Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD): nuclear, biological, chemical, both as ground and underground units. Useful Arts in American past and future

In a very general sense “useful Arts” are human creative works instrumental in organizing “more perfect” way of life - politically, economically, socially, and culturally."

"Useful Art"of Fifers and Drummers -
communication system in battles of the past
______________________________________

Advanced form of communication system in battle with Terror

With the onset of war in 1775, Virginia began to train an army to defend against an inevitable British invasion. At that time the American colonies did not have an army. There were very few trained military professionals. Forming an army required people who knew how to organize an army. America needed people who could supply the troops with uniforms, equipment, and food. Men who could teach, drill, and the manual of arms were scarce.

In Virginia, two men—Thomas Sterling and Thomas Hookins—offered their services teaching fifers and drummers - boys from age ten to eighteen. These young musicians were essential for every army at that time. They were the military communications system, regulating the soldiers' day in camp and providing signals to the troops in battle. Virginians badly needed “useful Arts” of fifers and drummers in future battlefields for their Independence.

In spite of a true understanding of an extreme necessity of “useful Arts” at that time, as well as a widely used term by the People of the Era of Enlightenment, the subject of “useful Arts” had been a question since the very moment the term had appeared as an integral part of the text of the Constitution of the United States (Article I, section 8). The only known articulate definition of the term came from Benjamin Franklin himself.

At the time of forming the text of the Constitution of the United States, Benjamin Franklin was asked by someone about “useful Arts”. He replied, that fifers and drummers playing music on a parade are “Entertainment“ and “Entertainers“, but the very same fifers and drummers playing the very same music on a battlefield are “useful Arts“ and Warriors. The definition given by Benjamin Franklin is absolutely correct. However, it is very far from being complete.

Useful Arts” are much greater then just “fifers and drummers”. The truth of the matter is that the very text of the Constitution of the United States was a work of “useful Arts” by itself, irreversibly abandoning the old medieval Ideology of Absolutism and Monarchism for the “new order of Ages” - Ideology of Representative Republic. The latter forever altered Fate of the new born Nation by changing a perception of a common man from being a “royal subject” to a Free and Sovereign Individual, the Master of own Fate.

In a very general sense “useful Arts” are human creative works instrumental in organizing “more perfect” way of life - politically, economically, socially, and culturally. “Useful Arts” are Ideological Instruments that were indispensable for the creation of the Nation. “Useful Arts” such as the pattern of the U.S. Flag, the poetic language and music of the U.S. Anthem, the design of the U.S. Great Seal, the striking architecture of the National Capital, and etc. are the bond for uniting the Nation. It is impossible to maintain neither a well-being of the Nation at a Time of Peace, nor at a Time of War without ideologically charged “useful Arts”.

Fifers and drummers were basic, although, critical Instruments of “useful Arts“ of the eighteenth-century military. Just as Virginia enlisted soldiers and stockpiled arms and ammunition, it also trained fifers and drummers to work with soldiers in the field. Fate of the new born Nation was literally in hands of those courageous boys - the Warriors providing necessary communications system on battlefields. In more then two hundred years the Nation desperately needs new Instruments of “useful Arts” in battle with Terror.

“Human reason” for “the Progress... of useful Arts” is to form advanced “communication system” between different parts of the Nation - governments, population, political elites, intellectual elites, business community, military, and etc. - for a joint effort in combating Terrorism domestically and abroad. “Useful Arts” are vital for sustaining the Will of the Nation to resist Terror and maintaining Fate of the Nation “to form a more perfect Union“ ordered by a human reason of the Constitution of the United States. Great German writer Thomas Mann once said, “Human reason needs only to will more strongly then Fate, and she is Fate.”

Next Time, Scream 'LIBRESCU!'

Ever since hearing of the tragic deaths at Virginia Tech last April, I have been deeply troubled by the number of people killed by a lone gunman wielding two hand guns in the midst of dozens of people.

Why was Seing-Hui Cho able to methodically move from classroom to classroom - four in total - killing 29 people and wounding at least 26 more, with so little effort to stop or to disarm him?

Why was the kill rate so high?

Why was there no offensive response by the overwhelming numbers being attacked? Continued...

The Golden Future of America

"The idea of a Golden Age has had a profound impact on the western thought. There is no doubt that the Golden Age was a realistic dream on minds of “the architects of These States ” too."

The Golden Future of Ameria

“The Road Map to the Future of the Nation”
By Boris Tiraspolsky
Member of American Ideological Society

"How used you the Great Seal of England?"
"To crack nuts with!"
Mark Twain, The Prince and the Pauper

Great American poet and philosopher Walt Whitman once said about America: "The architects of These States laid their foundations, and passed to further, spheres... Now are needed other architects, whose duty is not less difficult, but perhaps more difficult. Each age forever needs architects. America is not finished, perhaps never will be; now America is a divine true sketch."

These remarkable words about America being a “sketch” of “useful Arts”, were written about hundred fifty years ago. Therefore, there is a great deal of a need for a careful inspection of how America evolved from “a divine true sketch” of “useful Arts” into a divine true masterpiece it was originally intended to be by “the architects of These States”. Let’s take a look at the “true sketch” and boldly compare it to Reality we are currently in.

We casually encounter the “divine true sketch” every day, by picking up a dollar bill from our pockets. The “divine true sketch” is the Great Seal of the United States. However, a very few people know about profound meaning of this national Emblem. No wonder! The significance of the Great Seal of the United States along with a responsibility for teaching how to read, write and count have been overlooked by our Public Educators for a sake of teaching how to use condoms and how to “feel good about yourself”.

As a result, since the time of Walt Whitman we found ourselves being bankrupts that still bragging to be bankers, moralists proud to be hypocrites, judges devoted to petty issues of “political correctness” instead of the Supreme Law of the Land, leaders proclaiming own immature actions as a responsible leadership, arts becoming useless, and shamelessly turned into portraying sexual deviations... Is this a “masterpiece” we intend to passe to “further, spheres...” ourselves? No, this is not!

Lucky we are! We always have the “divine true sketch” before our eyes, and, therefore, we all have a never exhausted opportunity to return to original principals of “the architects of These States”. We just need to look at the “sketch” again and strongly remind ourselves who we are, and what we do, or rather what we originally were ordered to do on the Historic Stage.

On the obverse of the Great Seal of the United States “Eagle displayed, on the Summit of a Doric Column“, and “the Shield is born on the breast of an American Eagle without any other supporters, to denote that the United States of America ought to rely on their own Virtue". This is the key Principle for defining the Nation’s Mission on the Historic Stage and identifying National Character being able of accomplishing that Mission.

The Doric order was the simplest and sturdiest of all three orders of the ancient Greek architecture. It directly points out to the Golden Age, that is the ultimate dream of everlasting peace, prosperity, and joy for people on the earth. However, the Golden Age is not just one of those utopist dreams that may never come true. The Golden age is the historic precedent. It had happened once in the real life and therefore, can and must happen again.

The true historic existence of the Golden Age is described  by Greek poet Hesiod, and later confirmed by great Greek philosophers Plato, and Greek poet Ovid.

Hesiod tells of "A golden race of mortal men who lived in the time of Kronos when he was reigning in heaven. And they lived like gods without sorrow of heart, remote and free from toil: miserable age rested not on them . . . The fruitful earth unforced bare them fruit abundantly and without stint. They dwelt in ease and peace upon their lands with many good things."

Similarly writes Ovid in the sixth book of his Metamorphoses: "In the beginning was the Golden Age, when men of their own accord, without threat of punishment, without laws, maintained good faith and did what was right. . . . The earth itself, without compulsion, untouched by the hoe, unfurrowed by any share, produced all things spontaneously. . . . It was a season of everlasting spring."

In Works and Days Hesiod divided time into five ages:--the Golden age, ruled by Cronos,"these days are a great blessing to men on earth" when people lived extremely long lives "without sorrow of heart"; the Silver age, ruled by Zeus; the Bronze age, an epoch of war; the Heroic age, the time of the Trojan war; and lastly the Iron age, the corrupt present. The idea of a Golden Age has had a profound impact on the western thought. There is no doubt that the Golden Age was a realistic dream on minds of “the architects of These States ” too.

The most eloquent part of the Great Seal of the United States leading to the aspirations of the Golden Age is  three Latin mottos: “E pluribus unum” (Out of many one), “Annuit coeptis" (He has favored all our undertakings), and "Novus ordo seclorum" (New order of ages). These three mottos precisely define the Nation’s Historic Mission on the Historic Stage: to always strive for forming the future Golden Age, and identify key property of National Character necessary for forming the Golden Age. (Read More... )

These mottos directly correlate to the Preamble of the Constitution of the United States that orders “to form a more perfect Union”. However, the amazing thing is that all these profound philosophical concepts are present and naturally involved in every day life of all American people. There is no man, woman, or even child in the United States who is deprived from possessing them. Moreover, all these ideas are an integral part of the “exchange of values” on the Market Place, and the “blood circulation” of the Nation.

There is no American who does not have this “divine true sketch” of “useful Arts” in his possession. It is always available for checking the road map to the future of the Nation - the Golden Age. It always  reminds the true Historic Mission of the Nation - to set a model of the Golden Age for the rest of the entire World. It points out to a reliance on “own Virtue” by National Character necessary "to form a more perfect Union” with everlasting peace, prosperity and joy for ourselves and our Posterity.
